What is the Fairwood PTSA Charger Gold Dinner & Auction?

The Fairwood PTSA Charger Gold Dinner & Auction is our PTSA’s main fundraiser. The PTSA sponsors this event in order to raise funds to cover the costs of our children’s education which are not covered by the State or District. For example, State and District funds do not cover library books, field trips, art, drama or technology, and do not adequately fund science or music. Money raised at the Auction is critical to help bridge these funding gaps.

Who can attend?

The event is for adults only – Invite your friends, grandparents or other family members.  All Fairwood parents, friends, community members, and staff are all welcome!  The more the merrier but tickets are limited so get them now!

When & where is the auction event?

Saturday, March 23, 2019 5:00pm to 10:00pm at the Fairwood Golf & Country Club right here in Fairwood!

What is the schedule for the evening?

5:00 - 7:00pm:            Raffles, Games, and Silent Auction

7:00 - 9:00pm:            Dinner, Live Auction, and Dessert Dash

9:00pm - 10:00pm:     Dancing and Photo Booth

What should I wear?

The auction is a great excuse to get dressed up and have fun with other Fairwood parents and families.  You will see most people in business casual or cocktail attire.  We do ask that you observe the dress code of Fairwood Golf and Country Club and no jeans please.

Will there be raffles and games?

Yes, of course! All Auction guests will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for raffles and games like The Golden Ticket, 50/50 Raffle, Wine Toss and more.  The proceeds of the games and raffles will directly help benefit the school, so play away!

What about dessert?

We will have a Dessert Dash before dinner. During this fun event, each table of guests will decide how much they’ll “spend” for their choice of a lovely array of desserts. The table with the highest bid gets first chance at dashing to the dessert table and claiming the dessert of their choice! More details and a dessert menu will be available at the event, but bring your sweet tooth!

Where do the auction items come from?

Generous businesses, families, friends, and staff of Fairwood Elementary have donated all of the items for the Auction with a little encouragement from our dedicated procurement team. Even our students have donated their time & talents to class auction projects from each teacher.

Will all of the items be expensive?

No, there are items to fit everyone’s budget. Items will reflect our community and its wonderful diversity. Whether you purchase a restaurant gift card, a birthday party for your child, or an adventurous trip, your donation supports all of our students!

How do I get an Auction catalog?

If you have bought a ticket for the Auction, a printed catalog will be sent home with your student about a week prior to the event.  If you have friends or family that are purchasing tickets, have them note your child when they order online.

If I don’t plan to spend a lot of money, should I still attend?

Everyone in the Fairwood community is encouraged to attend. It will be a fun evening with old friends and a great time to make new ones, whether you spend a lot of money or not. This is a perfect opportunity to build our Fairwood community and to show support for our school.  If you would rather volunteer to help that evening by working the auction, that is also a way to support the school.  We will provide a dinner and bid numbers to our volunteers just in case something really catches your eye. Check out the Auction SignUp Genius if this might be of interest to you.

I would really like to attend. How do I purchase tickets?

Tickets are $50 each, and include your sit-down dinner and a drink ticket.  You can order online or use the ticket order form coming home in the Tuesday packet. Online tickets have a $2 convenience fee.

If I cannot attend, are there other ways to help?

Yes, of course!  Even if you cannot attend the Auction, you can still make an online donation to support the Fairwood Elementary.

Who do I contact if I have more questions?
