Battle of the Books!

Do you have a 4th, 5th or 6th grader? The "Battle of the Books" is a reading incentive program that students participate in across the country. Find out more about the district sponsored program HERE. In the Fall, our school librarian Mrs. Keiser will discuss more about this program. January is when the teams will be finalized. In May the Battle of the Books begins!

This year Fairwood competed in the district competition along with 27 other schools and achieved 1st place! Congratulations to Fairwood's Battle of the Books school champions - B.O.O.K. (Best of Our Knowledge) Readers -and now DISTRICT CHAMPIONS! You represented Fairwood well with your positive attitudes, hard work, and sportsmanship!

Check out the Fairwood Battle of the Books blog for the 2019-20 book list, schedule of meetings and some tips/hints.

We are looking for parent volunteers! Please email Sheena Keiser (Fairwood Librarian) for more information.

Find Reflections entry forms, rules, and guidelines here: http://www.wastatepta.org/programs/reflections/forms.html
(Entries that do not conform to the National PTA Reflections Rules will be disqualified.)

We will have 2 optional workshops on Wednesday, October 16th and Wednesday, Nov. 6th at 8:10am in Room A3.
