The Kent Area Council PTSA provides training, information and services to local PTA and PTSAs.

KAC general membership meetings are the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Kent School District Administration Building board room at 12033 SE 256th Street. At our meetings, we provide information, networking and training in a variety of formats for officers of Local PTA and PTSAs.

Want to volunteer at school? Not sure how? Come to a volunteer orientation to learn about school volunteer rules, where to sign and where rooms are located. Get to meet the principal, Mrs. Hoyle too!

Reading Volunteers

Calling all listeners! Mrs. Tugman's class needs volunteers that students can read aloud to. Volunteers will ask them questions about what they are reading, sounding out words and figuring out unknown words. 

Reading intervention time is on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:20-2:55.

Kentridge Chatelaines Junior Dance/Drill Clinic

Kentridge Chatelaines Junior Dance/Drill Clinic located at Kentridge High school on Saturday November 3rd, 2018 from 9:00am-2:30pm.

The cost is $40 if you register on or before October 26th. This will also guarantee a t-shirt for your child.

The cost after October 26th and at the door is $45. After this date a T-shirt is not guaranteed.

Teaching students ages 5-18 (kindergarten through 12th grade) the basics of dance/drill. At 2:00pm there will be a short routine performed to show their parents what they learned. Please feel free to invite your friends.

Battle of the Books

 The "Battle of the Books" is a reading incentive program in elementary, middle school, and high schools across the country. Find out more about the district sponsored program HERE. Fairwood placed 3rd out of 26 schools this year!

Check out the Fairwood Battle of the Books blog for the 2018-19 list and some tips/hints.  Mrs. Keiser will help organize the groups.

In the fall, the school library will have all the Battle of the Books available to read. Through December any student can check out these books. Starting in January, only students participating in Battle of the Books will be able to check out these books.

Fall Fundraiser

For the Fall Fundraiser, the PTSA invites you to gather donations from family, friends, and neighbors that will 100% DIRECTLY benefit all Fairwood Elementary students.

Blast into Reading ~ Book Bingo due Nov 5th

Look in your student's Tuesday packet for a Book Bingo flyer! Extra copies will be available in the library or you can download a copy (K-2nd grade version3rd-6th grade version, Instructions). Deadline for turning in the completed Bingo is November 5th!

Reflections 2018-19 Theme
 
Next year marks the 50th anniversary of the Reflections program. The 2018-19 theme is "Heroes Around Me"
 
Reflection Workshops - 10/17 and 11/7 before school at 8:10am in room A3. All student entries are due by November 21, 2018. PERMISSION FORM HERE due Oct. 4th.
